40HQ Container Loading Guide for Steel Cabinets
Why final packing dimensions, knock-down design, order mix and protection method determine container quantity more reliably than a generic loading claim.
Do not calculate from cabinet dimensions
Container loading is based on the finished package, not the assembled product outline. Carton allowance, foam, corner protection, hardware boxes, pallets and knock-down arrangement all change the usable volume.
Separate theoretical and executable quantities
A volume division provides only a theoretical starting point. Door clearances, loading direction, weight distribution, package strength, handling space and the ability to build stable rows affect the executable plan.
Mixed orders need a loading map
For several sizes or product families, provide model quantities and package data in one schedule. The supplier can then identify unused spaces, stacking conflicts and whether small accessory cartons can be consolidated safely.
Protect the product while using cube efficiently
The best loading number is not automatically the highest one. It must preserve carton strength, coating condition, hardware organization and unloading safety through the expected route.

ARTICLE FAQ
Quick answers for procurement teams.
Can the loading quantity be quoted before packaging is approved?+
Only as an estimate. The final quantity should follow the approved packing size and shipment mix.
Does knock-down packing always load more units?+
It often reduces volume, but product design, assembly labor, protection and market expectations must also be considered.
Should pallets be included?+
State whether pallets are required because they use space but can support handling and protection requirements.
